Hello and welcome to living supernaturally. This is day five of our study of God imitators. What an awesome privilege it is that we are welcomed by God into His presence, we are given access to come to His holy of holies and He invites us to be just like Him. He's not threatened, in fact He welcomes us to be like Him. Ephesians chapter five and verse one, the verse that we've been looking at ‘therefore be imitators of God as dear children.’ So, God is pleased when we try to be like Him, just like any earthly parent is proud, when the child tries to be like him in a good way, in the good things, in speech or behavior or in action. So also, our Heavenly Father and we are called to imitate what is good, He is good. One of the aspects of how we can be like Him, how we can imitate or be a God imitator is to imitate His compassion. The compassionate heart of God moves many things and one of the things is that He is moved with compassion to reach out and minister, to reach out and touch people's lives and transform people's lives. So, we are called to imitate His compassion. Let's look at Matthew chapter nine, verses 35 to 37, it says, ‘then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to his disciples. The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.’ If you look at this this passage, we see that He saw the multitudes and they were weary, they were scattered like sheep, having no shepherd. He was moved with compassion towards the weary, He was moved with compassion to those who seemed to be scattered and didn't have any place to belong, and He wanted to shepherd them. And He Himself said, I am the good shepherd. He was moved with compassion to nurture the people, to feed their spirit, to feed their soul and to feed their bodies as well when they were hungry. He drove out demons and brought in deliverance. And there was total transformation in the lives of people that He ministered to. He was moved with compassion to deal with the root cause of what was causing them pain or what was bringing them into bondage, which was sin. So, God has called us to be like Him, to be ministering like Him, to move with compassion. Yes, moving with people or being with people can either energize us and sometimes when we spend too much time, it can drain us. But under the guidance of the chief shepherd, we can be shepherds who can nurture, who can bring about change in people's lives by the power of the Holy Spirit and our own weakness, our own limitations will be turned into strength. His strength will overshadow our weaknesses as we move with compassion. And as we move with compassion, let's remember that we are walking like Him as dear children. We are looking to Him, we're looking towards Him, and we are being like Him. So today, let's look for opportunities where you and I can be like God, be like the Lord and move with compassion, bringing about change, bringing about healing, bringing about encouragement in the lives of people. Let's pray, Father, we thank you that you moved with compassion and you reached out and touched us with your love, with your power, with your healing and today Lord may we turn around and do the same thing for those around us, where you take us and the people whom you have placed in our lives, be it friends, be it family, be it colleagues, our neighbors, Lord, let our hearts be tender. Holy Spirit even as you lead us, may we move with compassion and touch people's lives, for your glory, in Jesus’s name we pray Amen.
