Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord, no tender voice like thine can peace afford, I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee, O bless me now my savior, I come to thee, O bless me now my savior, I come to thee.

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are doing as series called Songspiration. We are looking at some of these old hymns, beautiful songs that were written years ago, centuries ago but the truth of what they proclaim still ringing true today. One day, Annie Sherwood Hawks, a young mother, a homemaker, she was 37 years old, and she was busy with the regular household tasks of cooking, cleaning, washing, putting things in place, arranging but suddenly in the midst of all those mundane tasks and routine of life, she became aware of God’s powerful presence right where she was. She was filled with an overwhelming sense of nearness to the Lord Jesus. She began to wonder how could anyone live without Jesus? Whether it was in joy or in pain, how could anyone live their life without Jesus? So, she sat down, leaving all those tasks said and began to write down her thoughts in a poem. She says, then the words were ushered into my mind and these thoughts took full possession of me. Within a few months of writing this poem, the music for this poem was composed by a person named Robert Lowry and the hymn was published for the national Baptist Sunday school convention. Now, after 16 years, Annie Sherwood Hawks’ husband passed away. She wrote, I didn’t understand at first why this hymn had touched the great throbbing heart of humanity, it was not until long after when the shadow fell over way, the shadow of a great loss, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words. She experienced comfort going through the grief of her husband’s loss from the words of this hymn or song that she wrote years ago, and it continues to comfort the hearts of people going through pain and loss. So, maybe you are going through a difficult time or a grieving period, may the words of this hymn comfort you today and may it draw you near to the presence of the Lord Jesus.

I need thee every hour, in joy or pain, come quickly and abide or life is vain, I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee, O bless me now my savior, I come to thee, O bless me now my savior, I come to thee.

Lord, we draw near to you. We need you, teach us your will and may your promises be fulfilled in our lives. We thank you for this song and for your eternal truth it proclaims, that your presence is indeed better than life itself. We thank you for the strengthening work of your Spirit in our hearts. I just pray for those who are going through a difficult and tough time, and those who are grieving, may they experience your comfort even today, even right now, in Jesus’s matchless name we pray, Amen.
