Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

High Waves (Daily Devotional)

Hi everyone, welcome once again to Living Supernaturally. Thank you for this opportunity to come your way and spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. Mark chapter 4, verses 35 through 40, ‘That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”’ There is something spectacular about watching a storm while you are safe at home. But what if you were out on that water? Imagine how the disciples felt in the midst of this furious storm. Water was swamping into their boat and yet in the midst of their exasperation and anxiety, they saw Jesus was asleep. He was resting. The disciples decided to wake Jesus up. It was not enough to just have Him in the boat, they needed Him to be involved in their situation. Jesus’ true humanity is shown by this brief sleep on the boat. Think of all the worries that might have kept Jesus awake. He could worry about the religious and political leaders who plotted to kill Him, He could worry about His family who thought He was crazy, He could worry about the overwhelming crowds and their overwhelming needs, He could worry about the disciples He chose, He could worry about the future because He knew what His destiny was. With all these worries about the future, Jesus wasn’t worried at all, He slept in peace in a rocking boat. Jesus didn’t say, wow, what a storm! Instead, He asked, why is it that you still have no faith? The storm couldn’t disturb Jesus but the unbelief of His disciples disturbed Him. The disciples asked a good question at the end of this encounter, who can this be? The answer is in Psalm chapter 89, verses 8 and 9, which says, ‘O Lord, Lord of hosts, who is mighty like you, O lord? Your faithfulness surrounds you. You rule the raging of the seas, when waves rise, you still them.’ Have there been times in your life when you have faced a storm and it seems like Jesus is not there? Were there times you are not sure whether you will survive a battle? Invite Jesus into your storm and trust in Him to be with you and do what is best for you. Jesus is able to calm the storms in each of our lives. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for your word. We thank you for your promises, we thank you that you are a powerful God, a God who calms the seas. Your word is powerful and no matter what we are going through, each one of us, maybe there are storms in our life, we pray that you will come into our lives and calm those storms. We invite you Jesus, we pray that we will not try to battle those storms on our own but you will go before us, you will calm every storm. We thank you for you are a God who keeps His promise, we thank you for this time, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
