Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for this opportunity to minister God’s word and take a few moments in prayer as well. This week, we will be talking about confession and how God is calling us as believers to confess our sins not only to one another but to God Himself. Today, we will look at confession is good for the body. 1 John chapter 1, verse 9, ‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’ Just as confession is good for the soul, it is also good for the body. When we admit our sins to one another, we become accountable and gain renewed assurance of God’s forgiveness. We can be honest with God, with one another and with ourselves. We grow spiritually because it is hard to look someone in the eye and lie. At the cross, we cannot find guilt, condemnation or shame but affirmation of God’s forgiveness. We become what Peter calls a royal priesthood, assuring each of us of God’s forgiveness. ‘He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’ Romans chapter 3, verse 21 days, ‘God accepts Christ sacrifice for our sins and credits us with His righteousness through faith in Jesus as our savior.’ Psalm chapter 32, verse 3 says, ‘when I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.’ Confessing our sin is good for our health. Any psychologist will tell us this, confessing is good for our body because when we hold guilt inside of us, it eats us up. When we don’t confess, it is like taking a bottle of soda and shaking it up, but at the right time when the bottle is opened, all our resentment, anger, everything will eventually blow up. In verse 5, ‘when I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable and I groaned all day long.’ This is what the psalmist says, my strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. David internalized his guilt and it physically affected his body. If you and I don’t talk about our problems, our guilt and our bitterness with God, we are going to take it out on our body. Several doctors advise that a lot of us can leave hospitals if we only knew how to get rid of guilt and condemnation. Sadly, in the church we sometimes sin and pretend that nothing is wrong but since God tells us to confess your sins to each other and pray for each other, He will provide forgiveness. It is good for us, our body and the body of Christ. Let us run to the cross, confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word. We thank you for teaching us to confess our sins. You’ve taught us in your word today that when we confess our sins, we are whole in our body. We pray that you will enable us to do this, no matter how far away we are from you, to look to you. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
