Greetings and thank you so much for joining us today for our daily devotion, as we spend a few moments in God’s word and prayer. This week, we have been talking about how to test personal prophecy and prophetic words that are given to us and we have been giving us various tests that we can apply to that prophetic word that has been given to us at a personal level. One more test that we could ask is, is there evidence of God’s gift, grace and working in line with this personal prophecy? What do we mean by that? The bible says in Ephesians chapter 4, verse 7, ‘To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.’ The Lord Jesus has placed in each of us, measures of grace and gifts so that we can fulfill what He wants us to fulfil. So, in line with this plan and purpose, He has blessed you with grace and gifts and He has given different grace and different gifts to different people. For example, if a prophecy is given to me, suppose there is a grace and a gift on my life to be a teacher, a communicator of the word of God, but somebody comes and gives me a prophecy saying, you are going to be a great worship leader, you are going to sing and write songs, play three different instruments, I’m going to question that prophecy because one of the ways to test prophecy is to see if there is evidence of God’s gift, grace and working in your life, that is line with that prophecy, is there a match? That prophecy can say wonderful things, you are going to write songs, be a great worship leader, you are going to play three instruments, you are going to release albums, you are going to travel the world, touch the nations through song and music etc. But if there is no corresponding grace, gifts, the working of God in my life, something is out of sync because the scriptures clearly says that each one of us, there is grace and gifts that is given which is in line with the call and function God wants for us in His body. So, that is a very clear indication/ test to see whether that prophetic word is correct or not. Of course, there will be times when God is unveiling potential that He has already placed in you which you have not come to understand, that can happen. But the fact is that when that gift is called out of you, you will begin to see the working of God, the grace and the gift and the working of God in that line, and that will be an indication/ confirmation that the prophetic word is true, but if you don’t observe the gift, grace and working of God in your life in line with that prophecy, then something is out of sync, you know that prophecy is not true. It is not exposing the potential that God has placed in you. That is another test, is there correspondence between God’s grace, gift and working in your life and with that prophetic word, a clear test. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the grace, the gift and the working of God that is in each of our lives. May we recognize that and grow in it and may we manifest, release the grace and the gifts in your working that you’ve placed in each of us, the various, different, diverse gifts, varying grace, the different callings and functions, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
