Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome back everyone, trust that we are gaining some insights from the life of Deborah. Today, I want to talk about the fact that in this battle, though there were people involved and they were doing their part, it was really God who was working in the background, to release victory for them. So, in our lives, as we go about trusting in the victory that the cross has given us, we can do our part, as led by the Holy Spirit but know that the victory really comes from the Lord.

Looking at this particular battle in Judges chapter four, in verse 23 we read, ‘So on that day, God subdued Jabin King of Canaan in the presence of the Children of Israel.’ Now isn't that interesting, who was the one who had the final word and who gave the final blow, it was a lady called Jael who finally took a tent peg and killed the enemy. However, we read in verse 23, that it was God who subdued. In between as the battle was unfolding, it looked like Barak was in control and then it looked like he wasn't in control but notice here that even when the enemy seemingly escaped, it was God who had hearts prepared, it was God who had spoken and ministered to a lady far away and nobody would have ever realized that the final blow would be hers. But at that time, God's word had come so clearly to Deborah, and she had spoken that finally, God is going to do this, He is going to grant the victory to the children of Israel. She also was able to spell out exactly how- she said that God would deliver the enemy into the hands of a woman.

The point is that the circumstances were unfolding in their own way and the process was taking its own course, but ultimately, the Lord was working it all out for those who were ready to strive in faith. It's the same thing for us today, God is the deliverer. As we read in verse 23, God subdued, God is our deliverer. We read in one John chapter three and verse eight, the Lord Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He did it during His earthly ministry and He continues to release the same thing upon us by the power of the Holy Spirit in our times. So, nothing much has changed. God has worked, He has finished the work on the cross and as we step out in faith in the spiritual realm, these things begin to truly unfold, our victory begins to come forth. So instead of fixing our eyes on our situation, we must fix our eyes on what the Lord has already done. And I just want to repeat for us, these passages of scripture in first Corinthians chapter 15, verse 57, we read that the victory comes to us through Christ; and also, a very familiar passage in Psalm chapter 20 and verse seven, which says, ‘some interest in horses, some in chariots, but we will trust in the name of our Lord’ and the Lord God is our deliverer. We must do our part and yet our faith and our hope is in the Lord God our deliverer. He has subdued the enemy and He gives us the victory.

Let's pray together, Father God, we thank you for this truth that you are Almighty and God, you are working on our behalf. Thank you, Lord. If God be for us, who can be against us. We declare that the victory is ours in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
