Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Shalom and thank you for joining us for our series on work, where we are looking at biblical perspectives of work. We’ve been looking at different lessons we can learn from what the Bible says about how we need to approach work. Every one of us have been blessed with God given talents. The Bible clearly spells it out in Romans chapter 12, verse 6 which read, ‘God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well.’ It is God who gives us everything we need to excel, everything we need to flourish and prosper in all that we do. We do what we can because God is the source of every good gift in our lives. All of our talents that God has given us, whatever you use in your day to day work is given to you by God. It says in scripture, every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights. So, your talents that you have that God has given you, can be used at work. You were created with unique gifts and unique skills and the people and the place that you are working in, needs you to use them. You were also created to fulfill a unique role and the world needs you to do that as well. You can do 100% work in a job that lets you use God given talents. You have a responsibility to use what God has entrusted to you and it shouldn’t be locked up inside of you. Before you could put them to use, it is a good idea to be aware and identify what it is. Identifying your God given talents is not an option, in fact it is a responsibility because you have extraordinary things to offer because it has been put in you by God and it means that you have an obligation to figure out what they are. Remember God has made each one of us fearfully and wonderfully and so everyone of us has something to offer. Be it at your home, it may be a skill that you have in decorating your home or making an excellent meal, be it in administration where God has given you thoughts and ideas in organizing; wherever it is, you are called to make use of talents. Remember, nobody has talents better than someone or more important than someone else. All of them are equal and important to God. We need to put the talents God has given us into use. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we are privileged to know that you have bestowed us with talents and giftings that you want us to use in our work. May we be diligent to identify and be aware of it and if need be, hone those talents and skills and use them for your glory. Thank you for entrusting us with such things that help us in our work, we ask this in your name, Amen.
