Gifts Of Healings (Daily Devotional)

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, we are glad that you could be here to study God’s word together. We are looking at the gifts of the Spirit. As we look into scripture and particularly 1 Corinthians chapter 12, where the gifts of the Spirit are listed, where we study the nature and working of the gifts, we are encouraged to not be ignorant of these gifts because these are expressions or manifestations of the Holy Spirit, of God Himself. So, we are to be well informed and not just in academic information but we are to walk in the truth of it. We are to walk in it as an experience and experience these gifts. So, the question is, are these gifts for me? If so, what is for me and not for me? Well, the answer we see is these gifts are for all. When we look at the scripture, 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 1, we are called to desire these spiritual gifts, all of them. Why? So that God can pour these and we can experience these and can be ministered to one another and can be for the benefit of all. Today, we are looking at one particular gift and this we see in verse 9, and it says, ‘to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit.’ This gift of the Spriit is called gifts of healings. We know that we can be healed of our physical infirmities or something to do with our emotions, we can be healed in several ways as we see in scripture. We can be healed as we study the word of God, grow in faith and receive for ourselves healing. We can be healed as we step into an atmosphere of praise and worship, where there is the presence and power of God and we can be sovereignly healed even as we step in or even as we are in that environment. The bible also talks about this gift or gifts of healings for various kinds of healings, for various kinds of illnesses or symptoms. So, gifts of healings, what are they? When it comes to faith, the person who receives/ contending for that healing/ wants to receive that healing has to be in a place of faith because we receive by faith. The just shall live by faith. But when it comes to the gifts of healings, well the recipients need not necessarily be in a place of faith, the gifts don’t operate in that way where one needs to depend of the faith of that person. Irrespective of the faith of the recipient, the gift operates because the one who is ministering is ministering through the gifts of healings. So, the gifts of healings are released through faith and maybe can operate in conjunction with the word of knowledge. Where through the word of knowledge, God gives that information, God knows the needs, the hearts of people, and so here comes the information that He puts in our hearts saying, there is a person suffering from this kind of a condition, maybe a migraine or something even more serious but the word of knowledge comes; maybe there is someone who is suffering form this kind of a symptom or condition. Well, once that is known, we can ask the Holy Spirit for a release of the gifts of healings and ask God to release His gift. Even as we lay hands and pray, declare your word, let your gift be released and let healing happen and breakout and the symptom be changed and the person be healed completely. So, this is how the gifts of healings operate. It is for all believers again that we can stand in faith, receive by faith and release this through faith. Even as we pray, you pray, may the Lord remind us of people or certain needs where we can receive this gift and minister this gift. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for these gifts of healings and that it is for us today as we believers. We thank you that you desire to manifest these gifts by the Holy Spirit and we are here as willing vessels for you to work in and through us. May gifts of healings be released even as you take us to people, various places and people with different needs, may these gifts be released and let there be breakthroughs of healing and deliverance, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
