by Ps Paul Emmanuel
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. This week, we have been looking at the epistle of Galatians and the wonderful lessons that we can learn from the writings of the great apostle Paul. We wrap up this week by talking about toward a good harvest. Galatians chapter 6, verse 7, ‘Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.’ In our text today, Paul warns us not to deceive ourselves. We shouldn’t think too much or more of ourselves than we ought to and we should be faithful in carrying each other’s burdens. This means caring for one another and doing good to all people, not taking pride in our position, strength, health or in any other area. If we have health and strength, we are in a position to help someone. We need to realize that God has pt us in that position so that we may honor Him in doing good. If we begin thinking that we have earned that position for ourselves, we are in danger because God will not be mocked. Paul reminds his readers that whatever a man sows, he will also reap. God is a just God and has instituted throughout human experience, the concept of sowing and reaping. When a farmer plant seeds and cares for them, they will usually sprout out and produce good growth. In the same way, whatever a person plants in his own heart or thinking and behavior, will later bear fruit, either good or bad. If a person is focused on fulfilling the desires of the flesh, that is what he will invest in and that is the fruit he will receive. On the other hand, if a person invests on spiritual things, then the fruit will be spiritual and wholesome. Even when we are planting and watering well, focusing on the things related to our new life in Christ, it is still God who causes it to grow. Even though God rewards one who works, we must understand that every opportunity is given by God. In other words, whatever a man sows, he also reaps-teaches both God’s justice and mercy. Mockery is a dishonoring attitude that shows low estimation, contempt and even hostility. Nehemiah was mocked by his enemies. Elisha was mocked by the youths of Bethel. Those who mock God will mock the people of God as well. Jesus’ repeated words to every church in Revelations- I know your works. The fact that whatever a man sows, he will also reap is not only God’s justice but also God’s magnificent mercy. God hasn’t given us what we deserved. In His amazing grace, God has given us what we didn’t deserve - the opportunity to sow the seed of righteousness so that we can see the fruit of righteousness in each of our lives.
Let us pray, Father, we want to thank you for this entire week and the learnings we received from this wonderful epistle, there is so much more that we can learn. We pray that we will apply your word, these principles into our lives and walk in your ways every step of the way. We commit our lives to you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
