Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's Church. We're so glad that you could be here and could spend some time meditating and learning together. Today, we are looking at 1 Timothy chapter 6 and verses 11 and 12, verse 11, ‘but you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.’ We've been meditating on Paul's letters to Timothy and some of the instructions that we see here and Paul is writing here and he's saying, you, O man of God, he's addressing Timothy as a man of God and he's saying you flee these things. What is he asking him to flee or run away from? He is saying, you run away from the love of money, you run away from this excessive desire for riches, you run away from greed and covetousness. So, he's saying flee these things, you have no business entertaining these in your life, run away from it. He goes on to say pursue which means run towards, run towards some of these things. What are those things? He says you diligently go after anything that is godly, reverence, respect for God and he says you pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and gentleness. If you see this list, this is actually the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit in our life and the fruit or the result of the Holy Spirit's work in our spirit. So, he's saying you go after it, there's nothing wrong, you just pursue it wholeheartedly and he says you run after it. He says in verse 12, now you need to fight. Even as you flee from and even as you pursue certain godly things, remember that you need to fight. This is a good fight, this is the kind of fight that you are engaged in, this is okay to fight this fight and what is that fight? He says, fight the good fight of faith. So, faith is a fight, you're fighting against unbelief, you're fighting against the ways of the world, you're fighting against maybe values and culture that could be against what is there in scripture. So, you're fighting against that and he says you fight the good fight of faith and it involves faith, it involves our belief, our unshakeable belief in God and in what He has said. Now that's the fight of faith. He's saying get a good grip, lay hold on eternal life, this is a free gift but you have a strong grip on it, whatever accompanies salvation, whatever has been given to you, you have a strong grip on it, don't let go, which means that there could be something happening to actually wrestle that out of our hands and out of our lives. So, he's saying you get a good grip and I’d remember that you have confessed that good confession in the presence of many witnesses. So, this is something for us today in today's day and time, it's timeless, so today we can follow it wholeheartedly. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for these instructions to flee away from certain things, flee away from greed and love of money which traps man. We thank you for the instruction to pursue righteousness and godliness. Even as we do so, enable us to have a strong grip on salvation and everything that accompanies salvation that has been freely given to us. We pray that we will fight the good fight of faith daily, every moment because you are with us, we thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
