Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you so much for yet another opportunity to come to you and spend these few moments with you in God’s word and prayer. This week, we are talking about strengthening our inner man. How do we strengthen our inner man? We are touching on various practices and disciplines that will help us develop strength in our inner man and draw strength from God in our inner man. Today, I want to point us to the practice of meditation in God’s word. We know that the word of God is food for our spirit. We are familiar with Mathew chapter 4, verse 4, when Jesus says, ‘man will not live by bread alone, but by every bread that proceeds form the mouth of God.’ Hebrews chapter 5 talks about the word of God being like solid meat. We know that the word of God is food. The question is how do I get that food to my spirit? In the natural, we know how to eat natural food; take it in so that it can benefit our physical body, our body derives physical strength. How do I take the food of the scriptures, the word of God and put it into my spirit? What happens through the process of meditation? We must learn to meditate on the word of God. We know we read the word, the scriptures and that is the starting point as you read the scriptures. But as we read, we need to ponder. To meditate means to contemplate, to ponder, to think deeply upon and along with that meditation, we engage our imagination that means we visualize the scriptures. We engage our vocal organs, we say, we mutter, we speak the word of God and all of that is involved in mediation. Contemplation, visualization and confession or saying of the word, all of this is involved in mediating in the word. As we meditate in the word, we are taking the milk, the food, the bread, the meat of the word and feeding our spirit so that our spirit can then be strengthened with divine power and become strong. Those who meditate on the word will be people who are nourished by the word and who will be strengthened with the power of God in their spirit. I want to encourage you to learn how to mediate in the word. Ponder, don’t rush through the reading of the scriptures, take time to ponder, contemplate, let your imagination be captured by that word, let your speech be captured by that word, you say that word over yourself and you draw that word into your spirit and let your spirit draw strength out of the word of God. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that you will give us the grace to practice these things so that we can be strengthened in our spirit man, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
