Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you once again for this opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments in the word of God. We trust, that as we are outlining Jesus’s teaching on faith, it’s become clear to you what it means to have faith in God. Sometimes, maybe because we haven’t been taught correctly, maybe it’s because we haven’t seen things correctly from the bible, we misunderstand what it means to have faith in God. The sad part is, many times we think we are having faith in God, but really, we are not because we are not doing it the way the scriptures teach us, or the way God has put in the scriptures for us. So, it’s very important for us to be very clear about what it is to have faith in God and then practice that correctly. God is not responsible for our malpractices/ misapplication of the word because it is our responsibility to study, understand the scriptures correctly and then practice correctly. So, it’s very important for us as we outline Jesus’s teaching on faith, we understand each of these elements/ aspects correctly and begin to apply it in our lives.

One of the things I want to highlight here today on Jesus’s teaching on faith is that He made it very clear that worry, fear, and doubt negate faith. We find Jesus making these statements in different places, in Mathew chapter 6, verse 30, He said, ‘O, you of little faith, do not worry.’ Verse 31 says, ‘do not worry.’ Mathew chapter 8 and verse 26, He says, ‘why are you fearful, O you of little faith?’ Mathew chapter 14 and verse 31, He said, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’ So, worrying, fear and doubt- all opposing faith and causing the people in these three situations, to be people of little faith. That means, to some extent, worry, fear, and doubt had neutralized or compromised their faith. Their level of faith dropped from perhaps being full of faith to little faith, what caused it? One case- worry, fear, and doubt. These are three big enemies of faith, worry- being anxious, fear- fear is misplaced faith, believing in something that is wrong and not truth and doubt- is questioning or wondering if God really come through on His promise. Worry is being preoccupied with the negative in our minds instead of being occupied with the word of God. So, the antidote to worry is replace and get your thoughts on the word instead of on the negative things that it is cycling / looping over. The antidote of fear is to reinforce faith in your hearts by His word, the antidote to doubt is again the same thing, reinforce faith by the word of God. So, lock worry, fear, and doubt out of your life. Refuse to give them any room as you don’t want these things to neutralize/ negate faith in God.

Let’s pray, Father, help us to guard our hearts against worry, fear, and doubt. Keep these things away, keep our heart and mind occupied by your words, so that we can be people of faith, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
