Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for another opportunity to come and spend some time with you. We are drawing close to another week and we trust that you’ve been walking in the goodness of God, we trust you’ve been experiencing His mercies each and every day, that God has been loading everyday of your life with His benefits. We’ve been talking this week about strengthening our inner man and we’ve been touching upon various practices and disciplines that we can engage in so that we can be strengthened with power by His Spirit in our inner person. Today, I bring our attention to another important discipline which is exercising our spiritual faculties. The apostle Paul mentions/ writes about this in Galatians chapter 5, he says, ‘if we walk in the Spirit, let us also be led by the Spirit and let us also live in the Spirit.’ In Galatians chapter 5, he talks about living in the Spirit, walking in the Spirit and being led by the Spirit and he contrasts this to somebody who walks in the flesh. So, the inference there is as believers, we are supposed to operate out of our spirit, our everyday life must come out of our spirit. So, it says, we live and we walk and we are led by the Spirit. Our spirit operating in submission to the Holy Spirit, that is how we should pursue Him. If we do that, he says, we are going to be victorious over the flesh, we are not touching on that aspect. I want to emphasize these things Paul is saying, we got to live in the Spirit, we got to walk in the Spirit and be led by the Spirit. How does that happen? That means the Holy Spriit dwelling in me should have His bearing, His influence upon my human spirit and then from there, I begin to live and do the things I need to do from the spirit. How does this happen? The human spirit has these 5 faculties, we can see, hear, feel, taste and smell in the Spirit and all of these things we can see in the bible. God has endowed our spirit with these faculties and through these faculties, the Holy Spirit is leading us, inspiring us and imparting to us. So, we receive from the Spirit through these faculties and we live out of that. It is through that we are able to walk in love, joy, peace, kindness, meekness, goodness, self-control and faith, sincerity, that is how the fruit of Spirit are birthed or born in our lives, through our spirit faculties are connected with the Holy Spirit. So, exercise your spiritual faculties, what does that mean? You say, what do I feel in my spirit, what am I hearing in my spirit, what am I seeing in my spirit? I begin to make decisions; I begin to do things out of that. This requires some training and that is going to take a separate study to understand how to do that but I just want to encourage you, exercise your spiritual faculties so that you can walk, live and be led by the Spirit. Let’s pray, Father, help us we pray to live in the Spirit, to walk in the Spirit, to be led by the Spirit so that we can be strengthened in our inner man and bear the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
