Shalom and thank you for joining us to another week of Living Supernaturally. We trust and hope that as we meditate on God’s word, it will bring about a greater understanding and revelation of what He wants of each one of us. As we look into a fresh topic this week, we are going to meditate on taking responsibility. We begin life with no responsibility at all. As babies or as children, we are fed, we are put to sleep, we are changed but as we progress through different stages of life, we are called to take on more responsibility. One of the characteristics that distinguish a child from an adult is the aspect of taking responsibility. Everyone has been made for responsibility, we are entrusted with responsibilities. God created us to take responsibility. God has given every person a duty or a job to accomplish different things and in multiple areas of our lives. A part of growing up or maturity is taking responsibility. We are made to serve God by obediently carrying out whatever task He has entrusted us to do, whether it be it in our families, our workplaces, in our church, in our nation, in God’s eyes responsibility is very critical. When God created Adam and Eve, He created them also with responsibilities. Let’s see in Genesis chapter 1, verse 28 it reads, ‘Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”’ Adam and Eve had responsibilities. God gave them the responsibility of multiplying, subduing the earth and having dominion over creation. Taking responsibility is the willingness to give account for your actions, the willingness to bear the burden of what you have or have not done. It is being willing to answer for your conduct or for the obligations you have. It is also a state of being committed and accountable and answerable to someone or something. A responsible person is one who can be counted on, who is accountable, who is trustworthy, who is reliable. A responsible person is what a spouse looks for, what a family needs, what is commended in a workplace and what a strong church needs and most of all, what God desires. God has entrusted or assigns us with responsibilities and it could mater in different concerns, in the way that we govern ourselves, in the way that we have attitudes, in the way that we think or dela with others especially our family, in the way we steward the word that He has given us, in the way we have our ministry and even in the way we have our relationship with Him. God entrusts us with things to do, with responsibilities and we need His help to carry each of them like He has assigned us to be. Let us pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you have called us to be responsible in different areas of our lives, multiple facets of our life, you would like us and you desire for us to conduct ourselves in a way that we do things what is expected of us. We pray that you will give us the grace, the power and the understanding and the attitude to do things well as you have assigned to us. Give us your presence and your empowering to do that, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
