Effect Of Righteousness (Daily Devotional)

Hello and thank you for another opportunity to spend a few minutes with you in God’s word and prayer. Trust that you are being encouraged, strengthened in your faith as we explore the word of God knowing that our God is Jehovah Shalom, God who is covenanted shalom/ peace/ total wellbeing for His people and you are included in that, you are one of His people. His covenant to you is shalom, peace, total wellbeing in every area of your life and that is something you and I should desire to journey into. We look today at another insight given to us in the scriptures in Isaiah chapter 32, verses 17 to 19, it says, ‘The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, though hail comes down on the forest, and the city is brought low in humiliation.’ Notice these scriptures carefully, God is saying that if we walk in righteousness, the effect/ outcome/ result of righteousness is shalom, quietness and assurance. So, peace, quietness, assurance and then He says, my people will live in shalom homes, peaceful habitations or homes filled with shalom, in secure dwellings and quiet resting places. So, this home that has shalom has quietness, security and all the sense of total wellbeing. God says, my people will experience this even if hail comes down on the forest and the city is destroyed, meaning this is what I am giving my people regardless of what is happening around them, even if the forest/ city is destroyed, my people will dwell in peaceful habitations. The key is walk in righteousness, just dwell in that place of righteousness, just keep doing what is right before God and He says, this will be the outcome, you will have shalom, quietness, assurance, a home that is filled with shalom, with security, with quietness and nothing around you can disturb that, that is the promise of God. May the Lord cause each of our homes to be filled with shalom according to His desire. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that according to this scripture, let every home and life be filled with shalom as we walk in righteousness, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
