Greetings! and thank you for another opportunity to come to you and spend a few moments in the word of God. We trust your week's been going good, that you are able to walk in the Spirit and learn to yield to the Holy Spirit in everyday life, just praying to Him and asking Him to fill you, influence you, dominate you, guide you and just empower you to live from Him and off Him. As we continue talking about Spirit filled living, I just want to highlight some of the things we see in Ephesians chapter five verses 18 to 21, Paul writes, he says, ‘don't be drunk with wine, which leads to dissipation or wastage; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.’ Now, what is he trying to tell us? I can't go around singing everything to everybody, what's the point that he is making? When I speak, I'm speaking as somebody who is inspired by God and I'm speaking things that edify people, psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. So, I'm speaking to edify people, that's another characteristic of spirit filled living, that my speech is touched by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that my speech and the things I say are things that come forth by inspiration, that come by the influence of the Holy Spirit and they are blessing people, they're edifying people, they are good words, kind words that are inspired by God, by the Holy Spirit. So, speak to one another, the way you communicate to one another in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, it's things that edify, build, and come by the touch of the Holy Spirit and that he says is an expression of somebody who was filled with the Spirit. So, let's open our lives up to that and say Lord through what I say to people, through what I communicate to people, help me to build people up, help me to encourage, help me to strengthen, help me to edify, let the touch of the Holy Spirit be on things that I speak to people. Let's pray, God, we ask that as we learn to walk in the Spirit and live Spirit filled lives, may we speak in such a way that will release words that come by your touch, that edify people, build people up, psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, things that bless people, things that glorify you, things that are worthy of you, let those things come through our lips, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
