Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings and thank you once again for the opportunity to journey with you throughout this week, day after day. Thank you for being with us and spending a few moments in the word of God and prayer and we trust that each episode brings meaning and enrichment to you. This week, we’ve been talking about dreams and what we can do with them and how to interpret them and how we process the dreams that God gives to us. The final instruction I want to leave with us in interpreting and making use of the dreams that God gives to us is we must act on any specific instruction that we see in the dream. There are many examples of this, for instance in the bible, when Pharoah had a dream and Joseph interpreted the dream and he gave him the meaning of that saying, God is telling you Pharoah that there is going to be 7 years of plenty and then 7 years of famine. Joseph didn’t just give the meaning and say do what you want with it and that my job is done. No! The next step was to come up with the strategy, what do I do with the dream? That is where the wisdom of God operating through Joseph really blessed Pharoah and the people in Egypt. Joseph said during the 7 years of plenty, you save up 20%, year on year, you keep saving and in the 7 years of famine, you sell that grain back to the people, that was the plan of action. The dream, the interpretation and then comes following through with some action. What is the instruction God is giving you? Like that, we see many other examples. Take for example when God spoke to Joseph in a dream, this is in Mathew chapter 2, and He said, I want you take Mary and the little child and go to Egypt and be there because the king is going to seek to destroy His line. So, when Joseph had a dream, he didn’t say, well, I’m going to stay here because God will protect me or that was just a dream that God gave, He is just alerting me what the king is going to do, but I declare divine protection. No! He acted on the dream, got up and went to Egypt. Follow the instruction because that is the way God wanted to protect Joseph. Couldn’t God have protected Joseph and Mary and the baby right there in Bethlehem or Nazareth? He could have made them stay right there where Herod was and protected them? Why did He tell them to go to Egypt? Well, that was the way God wanted to protect them at that time. If they didn’t follow through with that instruction, they would have been exposing themselves to the danger that was soon to come. So, we must follow the instruction that God gives to us in the dream. Having worked with the dream that God has given you, you make a note of it, all the facts, the emotions, everything you see, you try to interpret the figurative and the literal, you pray about the meaning and the timing of the dream and then you write down the meaning and the timing of the dream, you pray for it and prepare yourself to act on it. What does God want you to do? Get yourself ready and then if there are specific instructions, you act on it, knowing that God has led you to do that through the dreams/ dreams He has given to you. May the Lord give each of us many dreams so we can hear from Him and we could do mighty things for His kingdom, things we have seen in the bible, may those things happen again in each of our lives. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, you are the God who speaks. Throughout the bible, the Old and the New Testaments, you have spoken to your people through dreams. Speak to us your people, speak to those around us and may we be able to minister to them through the dreams you give to them. Lead us and guide us we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
