Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome dear friends, thank you for joining once again. Thank you for journeying through this week as we have studied the subject of praise and the fact that praise is a weapon and praise brings God's deliverance into our lives. Today, we will look at another example of deliverance coming in through praise. This is in 2 Chronicles chapter 20 and verse 22, ‘Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.’ This is talking about a very unique battle led by King Jehoshaphat. When he had to face his enemies listed here as Ammon, Moab and others who gathered against Judah, God instructed Jehoshaphat to go in not with weapons, not by physically fighting the enemy, but in a very unusual way. He asked them to go in with praising God. So, Jehoshaphat asked the Levites to go ahead of all the others. They went into battle singing and for anybody, this sight would have been a laughable one because nobody goes into battle just singing, however, this army did. What were they singing? They were singing praises to Jehovah God; they were singing the greatness of God and the fact that our God is great and His love endures forever. Even as they sang the praises of God, we read that God released an unusual deliverance upon the people. How did He do that? He set ambushes and the enemy's ended up killing each other and in the same manner, today, church, whenever we take time to praise God individually or corporately, what we are engaging in is a very serious spiritual battle. God begins to fight on our behalf, our spiritual enemies are being defeated. So, let's take our position of praise. Even as we choose to praise the Lord, our enemies will be defeated. Maybe we are experiencing a moment where there's intense spiritual battle even, we could begin to praise the Lord wherever we are, maybe in our office, we are right now in our office or we are in the car, just take a moment to praise the Lord from your heart and you are engaging in spiritual battle against the enemy. God can do wonders when we sincerely praise Him and lift up His name. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that as we obey you God and move in ways that you lead us, that you bring unusual deliverance into our lives. God, we pray today that as each one of us as we begin to praise you Father God that we will experience your mighty deliverance and thank you God, thank you for doing this in our lives, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
