Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone, welcome! We are going to take the next couple of minutes to talk about a heart that is devoted to God and the features of this kind of a heart. Today, I’m going to focus on delighting in God, a heart that truly delights in God. We know this familiar psalm, Psalms chapter 37, verse 4, it says, ‘Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.’ To delight in God is something that we need to do as people who are devoted to God and truly check our hearts from time to time and see if our hearts have lost that wonder as far as God is concerned, His word is concerned, and His presence is concerned. For us to be able to delight or greatly enjoy who God is, is very crucial in our spiritual journey. It can be compared to a little child that enjoys the presence of their parent and nothing else can replace that joy that a child feels in the embrace of their parent. Similarly, for us as children of God, the presence of God and who God is to us, the closeness with God is what truly recharges us, it brings back that joy into our hearts and lives. Friends, I just want us to pray towards this and say God, give me a heart that will delight in you, not just know you because that is important to do but to go a step further and truly delight in God. Delighting in God is enjoying intimacy with the Lord, it is developing a relationship with God and coming to a place where we realize that we need God, we need Him through the day, we need Him in every moment, we need Him as we partner with Him to do different things through the day. So, He is that pillar that we lean on and gain our strength from. To develop such a close relationship with God and to continue to desire that closeness, desire that secret place, the place where God dwells or the presence of God and that is to truly delight in the lord. I want to read for us another scripture, in John chapter 15 and verse 7, it says, ‘If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.’ God is calling us to abide in Him. To abide in Him is to make our dwelling with God, to ensure that we are not just visiting Him from time to time when we need this and that and we need His empowering, but it is more than that, it is about truly dwelling with God, enjoying that closeness, hearing His voice, understanding His heart, receiving His mandate and of course about waiting, abiding, soaking and just delighting in His presence. I want to invite each of us to pray that our hearts be of this kind, that they delight in the Lord because that would be a heart that is truly devoted to God. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, even as David prayed and said that this one thing I desire and seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. We pray that you will give us those hearts that hunger after you, that will only be satisfied through being with you, in intimacy with you. We surrender ourselves and our hearts, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
