Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Decisive (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings! We trust you've been having a good week thus far. This week we've been talking about mindset, having a positive mindset, a good mindset and how we can have that learning from the word of God.

Today, I want to talk about having a decisive mindset, being decisive meaning you've thought through on certain things and then you've arrived at a conclusion that you are fully convinced about, that's being decisive. Making a decision and moving on. Sometimes, in our conversations with people, suppose you ask somebody for example, what would you like to have for lunch? And they said anything, now that's not a good answer. In one sense it is easy but sometimes anything can be also very, very difficult because what does anything mean? I mean what if I get something that person will not eat or get something the person may not like, rather an answer that says, I like dish A or I like this, this, this is a more decisive answer. It's a more clear answer and it actually is helpful in many, many situations and that's just a simple day to day example. Being decisive is good for us and also, it's good for people around us.

In Romans chapter 14 the apostle Paul is talking about various little things of life, he says, there are some people who eat meat and there are those who may want to eat vegetables, there are some people who consider certain days is important for others every day is the same. And so, he's talking about believers who are having different perspectives on different things. And then he tells us in Romans chapter 14 verse 5, he says, ‘one person esteems one day above another, another esteems every day alike, let each one be fully convinced in his own minds.’ That means, you be decisive, you know what you're convinced about. If you want to look at every day as the same fine, you be convinced about it. If you want to look at a certain day as a special day, that's fine, you be convinced about it. Let everyone be fully persuaded in their own mind. You be convinced you be decisive, not I don't know, I mean, there may be certain things that we are exploring and learning about, I'm not talking about that, but in general, in day-to-day life making decisions, facing situations, it's so important to be decisive. You know what you stand for. You know, there used to be a saying, if we don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. And sometimes people are like that because they're not standing for something, they just fall for anything. So, you need to be decisive, be very clear in your mind what you believe, what you stand for, what is acceptable to you and what is not acceptable to you, what is integrity, what is not integrity, what is honesty, what's not honesty. You be clear, you be fully persuaded. You can be very decisive in your decisions, make your decisions move on but that's having a decisive mindset. Be fully persuaded in your mind, stand for something so that you don't fall for anything.

Let's pray, Father, we ask that you help us think through things and be fully convinced in our own minds of what we stand for and what we are convinced about and what we will make choices according to Lord. Help us to be decisive in our thinking, in our mindset, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
