Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Courageous (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome friends, I'm sure you are excited about learning about the lives of women in the Bible. So far, we've looked at the lives of Mary and Hannah and today I want to talk about the life of Deborah.

Let's read from Judges chapter five and verse seven, it says, ‘village life seized, it's seized in Israel until I, Deborah, arose, Arose, a mother in Israel.’ So, the picture that Deborah paints for us is that of a very courageous woman, very bold and strong woman. So, what do we see from her life example? She was obviously a woman of faith because she stepped in at the word of God and did whatever it took to win victory for Israel against an oppressor and we see that it really takes faith to go into such a battle; Deborah had that kind of faith. So, she is a woman of faith who embraced her call as the scripture we read just now said Deborah arose a mother in Israel. So, it shows us that she took her position, she knew that God was using her, and that God had a certain vision for her life as a prophetess and as a judge and she did not say no to God, she stepped into that position, whatever it looked like. And of course, in this case, it's more like a leadership position and she said okay to God about that and she moved forward with the way God was directing her. So that is one thing, she embraced the call of God on her life. We also see that she arose, which means that she did not hold back. When God is leading us in our lives, there are times when we have to step up and step out and we just have to take courage. There are leaps of faith that we have to take time and again. And Deborah was one such person who had the courage to rise up and we can learn that from Deborah's life. Sometimes we just have to stand out for God and do what he's calling us to do and don't say no to the call of God and the purpose of God, just respond as per God's timing. And the next thing is that she was also competent. She was the one instructing the commander of the armies at that time. So, one can only imagine the kind of credibility that she had gained among the people. She would have been consistent; she would have been so committed to her purpose call. She was someone who we could look up to and so that is something we learned from Deborah's life. I want to add to that list that she was anointed, as a prophetess one needed to hear from God accurately; imagine everything was at stake to send out people into a battle but she was confident about what she heard, and she instructed people accordingly. The result was a victory and deliverance that the children of Israel received. Deborah is a great example of a leader and there is so much that we can learn from her life. Today I just want to encourage especially the women to rise up as courageous women and do what God has called you to do.

Let's pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank you that Lord, you go before us and even as you lead us, we believe that we will conquer giants and we will fulfill what you have called us to do. We give you thanks and praise in, Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
