Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Courage (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome friends, thank you for joining in once again. We are talking about being firm in God and we’ve understood that it is so important to stand strong because there are different seasons in life and not just that, we also have a very active enemy who wants to rise up against us and bring us down as believers.

Today, I want to talk about the quality which will help us stand strong in the midst of a storm and that quality is called as courage. We are called to have courage in life and the way courage is spelt is FAITH. Faith gives us the courage that we need to do what God is calling us to do. God calls us to do things which is beyond us and our evaluation of ourselves. So, when there is a call of God on our lives, or if God calls us to do a particular assignment in a season of our lives, if we just go by our own thinking and our own ability, we will never be able to do. A wonderful example is found in Mathew chapter 14 when Jesus calls Peter to walk on the water. Jesus just says, ‘Come’ and then we see that it was only Peter who steps out on the water. The word of God is powerful and what did Jesus say when Peter asked if he could join Him on the water? He gave an open invitation and just said ‘come’. Now there were other disciples on the boat as well, now imagine with me, Jesus gave an open invitation and He did not say ‘Peter come’, but just ‘come’. It is possible that any one of the disciples could have had faith in the word of God and stepped out on the water just like Peter, but it was only Peter who had the courage to step out. It took faith to step out, to believe that he will be able to walk on water, which is supernatural, miraculous, which is just the way Jesus was walking on water at that point in time. How did Peter get this courage? Because he had faith in the word of God.

Today, friends, we as believers, the word of God is our food, our standard, gives us our instruction, carries the ‘Zoe’ or the life of God in it and God speaks to us day after day and calls us to all that He has for us in Christ Jesus. It is going to take faith on our part to say, God I’m fine, I’m willing to take one step. Notice, Peter took one step out of the boat and then he realized that he was actually walking on water. Unless we take that one step of faith, we will never know that we can do what God is calling us to do, even if that means walking on water, but friends it is going to take courage to take that next step believing in the word of God. I just want to encourage us, be bold, be courageous and God’s word says that the righteous are bold as a lion.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly father, thank you that we as your children, are confident in your word. Thank you that your word will never fail, heaven and earth will pass away, but your word will remain. I pray that courage will be stirred up in every heart and every life, that we will be able to take that step of faith according to your word and let great things be done for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
