Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Carnality (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. We are so glad that you could be here today. We are studying God’s word and looking at God’s word which is life to all who find them and health to all their flesh. So, God’s word is like an antidote- antidote to anything that is toxic and anything that could be damaging in the life of a believer. We are going to look at something which is a problem in the life of a believer and how God’s word can be an antidote to that. We are going to look at this aspect of carnality/ fleshly living and thinking which is a problem for a believer because God wants us to be spiritually minded and not carnally minded. To be carnally minded is enmity against God as His word says. Being carnally minded leads to carnal action, carnal imagination and it is frustrating for the believer as the believer knows as a Christian, you’re capable of so much more and that your inheritance is so much more; you know it is all there instructed in the word, but your experience is falling short of it - the reason being carnality. God’s word has an antidote for carnality, this is what we read in Romans chapter 8, verse 13, it says, ‘if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.’ Galatians chapter 5 verse 16 says, ‘I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.’ So, what is the antidote here? The antidote is, that by the Spirit of God, by the prompting, instructing, and empowering of the Holy Spirit we need to take some action. So, instead of giving in to the prompting of the flesh or the leading of fleshly appetites, we are to obey the prompting of the Spirit and put to death/ bring to an end the deeds of the body. That is the first thing- to bring to an end/ put to death the deeds of the body. The word of God says that we will live if you put to death which means the responsibility is ours. The second thing we saw in Galatians chapter 5, verse 16 is, that when we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. It is a wonderful promise and an amazing instruction- that walk in the Spirit. Those of us who are struggling with fleshly thoughts and actions and carnality, here is the antidote- walk in the Spirit which means live/ regulate your life and conduct by the Holy Spirit. When we live such a life our experience will not be carnality, but it will be life and peace. We see that you will live and bring an end to carnality. We will walk in the Spirit and as we do so we will experience the freedom, joy, and peace of the Lord. Let’s pray, even as we apply this truth in our lives today that we will experience truth of His word. Father, we thank you for the truth here, for the antidote that your word is against all forms of carnality. We pray that we will walk in the Spirit and therefore not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We pray that we will bring an end by the Spirit, even as your Holy Spirit leads us and bring an end to the deeds of the body and put to death the deeds of the body, we know that we will experience life and I just pray that each one of us listening to this will experience that life and walk in that freedom, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
