Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello friends, hope you are all doing well. We want to take some time to examine the claims of Jesus which are popularly known as the ‘I Am’ claims that Jesus made during His ministry here on earth. Today, we will be looking at His claim in which He states that ‘He is the bread of life’. Let’s read that verse, John chapter 6 and verse 35, ‘Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.’ This statement of Jesus was made when people were following Him for bread. A little before this, Jesus had multiplied bread and He had fed multitudes and so people knew that there was something supernatural or if you want to call it, a magical ability which Jesus had to make bread. Anyone who went with Him, would probably have free bread available at any given point in time. This is what drew some people to Jesus, and they followed Him. Jesus clarified for them, bread fills up our hunger, it is a source of nourishment to our bodies, but Jesus said, that the bread that you are looking for, that’s a bread that can satisfy you temporarily, but He says, ‘I am the bread of life.’ He is giving an eternal perspective to their quest and their question. He is saying that He is able to quench or satisfy their eternal hunger. Jesus is stressing on the spiritual over the natural, this is not to say that the natural is not important, definitely He was compassionate, He revealed the compassionate heart if God by multiplying bread and feeding the hungry multitudes, it was and is still important to God but what is more important is to satisfy our spiritual hunger and that is what Jesus was pointing to the people, He wanted them to know that the life giving bread or this eternal life giving bread is Him and when we come to Him, not only will their physical hunger be satisfied but also their spiritual hinger. We therefore understand that Jesus is claiming to be the source of life, the God kind of life, which is talked about in scripture, which is beyond what we see here as earthly life, it is an abundant, blessed, victorious, and overcoming life and that is the kind of life which Jesus was offering people. Jesus came to give us that kind of life through salvation. Jesus claimed and His claim was quite direct, He said, ‘I am the bread of life’. He was pointing to Himself and saying He is the very source of life. We know that the kind of life Jesus came to give is not limited to this earthly life, but it is eternal as well. So, Jesus’s claim that He is the bread of life, satisfies every hungry heart and that is what God wants, He wants every hungry heart to be satisfied through His Son, Jesus Christ. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us your Son, Jesus, who is the bread of life. We pray that every need of our hearts be satisfied by Him, thank you for providing in full, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
