Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Shalom and welcome to another series of lessons from a kitchen. Through this week, I'd like to share with you some thoughts that God speaks to me as I do a routine in my kitchen. So, something that I enjoy doing, and something that I learnt from my mother and my aunt was to make homemade butter. To make homemade butter, what you need to do is agitate cream, take cream, and beat it up. So, when you keep doing this, as you agitate the cream, as you keep beating the cream, you are going to get an expected result. As you're intentional in beating the cream, you're going to get your butter. So, what is it that actually happens? The more that the cream is agitated, the walls around the membranes around the fat separate, and they clump together making butter, this is a cause-and-effect result. Every time you intentionally agitate or churn your cream, you will get butter, you will not get anything else, and it is a scientific fact, that the more that you turn the cream around, the more that you get butter. So, this reminds me of what scripture says and I'd like to read a verse, in Hebrews chapter 11 and verse 6, that says, ‘for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.’ As you intentionally seek God, as your conscious in doing that, scripture says that He will reward us, and His presence and His power is with us. So, as we do this consciously, we can be sure that God, in His power and in His presence will meet us. So, the next time before you go to a store to do that, take some cream, churn it up and see the butter that you get because that evening when you do spend your intentional time with God, you will see His presence over you, you will know that He has come to commune with you, to be with you. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you because you show us that seeking you needs to be intentional and a conscious effort. Thank you because you reward all those who diligently seek you. Thank you because we can be found by you when we intentionally seek you. May we spend that time today to look for your presence, to seek after you, to come to you, to pray, to worship, and enjoy your presence. Thank you, Lord, because you are with us at all times, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
