Greetings and thank you so much for joining us today for our daily devotional and thank you for the opportunity to spend these few moments with you in God's word and prayer. This week, we've been talking about overcoming wrong thoughts and I've just been sharing different insights that will help us make sure that our thoughts are kept aligned to the thoughts the ways and the word of God. Today, I want to bring our attention to something very important which is to avoid blanking your mind or avoid keeping your mind empty. You see there are certain practices and philosophies that say, just blank your mind, empty your mind, that is such a dangerous thing to do because if you empty your mind and just give up control over your mind and hand it off to something else the devil is going to be the first one to come and occupy an empty mind, a blanked mind. So, instead of blanking your mind, the Bible tells us to gird up the loins of our mind, that's an old English way of saying take action in your mind, don't be passive, inactive, blanked out, emptied in your mind, that's not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches to take action in your mind that means be engaged, be active, be in control, be in charge, you determine what kinds of thoughts you're going to think, you determine what you're going to concentrate on, you determine what you're going to focus on, put your mind on things that are godly, set your mind on things that are above, set your mind on things that are true and pure and noble and virtuous, not be a passive, empty, blanked out mind. So, don't just blank your mind out instead, meditate, that's the Bible word, focus your mind on something from God's word, focus your mind on the Lord, focus your mind on who He is. So, when a wrong thought comes and something that's not aligned to God, you choose to bring your mind into focus, you take action in your mind and you choose to focus on the word of God, on who God is, set your mind on Him. The Bible says that God will keep us in perfect peace when we set our minds on the Lord. So, you're taking action, you’re choosing intentionally to put your mind on the Lord. Set your mind on things above, set your mind on God and His word. Let's pray, Lord, we ask that you'll help us take action in our mind and intentionally focus on who you are, what you've spoken, what you can do, how good you are. Focus our thoughts and concentrate on you. Lord, we declare that our mind is holy ground, that our mind and our thoughts will glorify you, that the meditations of our hearts will glorify you and be pleasing to you, in Jesus name, Amen.
