Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings! Thank you for giving us this opportunity to come to you today. We trust that you’ve had a great week, and the goodness of God is overflowing in your life each and every day. Remember no matter what we go through, God is with us, He strengthens us, He carries us through, and He is bringing us into a place of victory.

This week we have been mediating in John chapter 15 and today we look at verse 7 where Jesus said, ‘If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.’ The Lord Jesus is painting for us this beautiful picture of the vine, the vinedresser, and the branches. Out of that, He is bringing to us this truth about relationship with Him, about resourcing that comes from Him, about the working of the Father- the vinedresser in our lives and how all of that results in fruitfulness which He wants for us and as He is unveiling all of these truth to us, He makes this amazing statement (paraphrasing verse 7) - ‘Look if you live this kind of life, where you are abiding in me and my words are abiding in you; remember His words are what is cleansing us (as mentioned in verse 3), His words are pruning us, His words are at work in us and His words in us is equivalent to Him abiding/ living in us and His life being expressed through us. That is how important the word of God is. If you abide in me and my words abide in you - many times we look for fruitfulness and where we can be fruitful- the answer is simple; let His word abide in you. He says you can ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. I want to highlight a few things when Jesus made that statement. First, notice He is saying- you ask, what you desire, and it will be done for you. The responsibility is on us - as He says you ask what you desire. So, part of carrying out Kingdom work, part of being fruitful in the Kingdom, is us taking initiative so this is a big difference between a typical branch and us, people. A typical branch stays connected in a very passive mode but here He is talking of us being actively involved in the fruit bearing process. He says, - you ask what you will; so, our will is involved. Secondly, our asking/ pursuing is involved in being fruitful. There is nothing wrong in you and I intentionally pursuing/ asking of God for the things in which we desire to be fruitful and obviously those are the things He has assigned for our lives. But this comes out of the place of abiding; so, He says when you abide in me, I’m giving you this complete freedom to take initiate and ask and I’ll guarantee it is done. What an opportunity and tremendous blessing He has placed on our lives, but that we abide in Him and live out of that place of communion with Him. This is the privilege we have and let’s engage with God in this manner. Let’s pray, Father what a privilege you have given to us, help us to understand this, when we are in that place of communion with you, we can take initiative, we can ask that things will be done and we will be fruitful for your Kingdom and your glory, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
