Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for joining us today for our daily devotional. It is always our joy to be able to spend these few moments with you in God’s word and prayer. We are considering this theme, step lower-get higher. It is truly contradictory to the thought process/ patterns of this world, the way the world will see it. You want to get higher, push yourself up but scripture is telling us, you step lower, you get higher and we are understanding the right way to do that. We are not saying that we should just be push overs and let people abuse/ ill-treat/ trample all over us, that is not what we are saying but understand the biblical principle and do it the bible way that when you step lower before God, He will lift you up higher. We have been mediating on 1 Peter chapter 5, verses 5 through 7. I just want to being our attention to another part of this passage here, Peter says, ‘Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.’ I found it interesting that verse 7 is in the context of humbling ourselves before God. He says, you humble yourself before God and he wraps it up by saying, casting all your cares upon Him because He cares for you. So, what does humility have to do with cares? I think we can understand it in this whole context of God lifting us up. For those of us who are working in the corporate world, it can be really something that bothers/ troubles our minds about how am I going to get lifted up or get my promotion? The cares, what we worry about, how am I going to go upon the ladder, get onto a higher place; he says, you humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, He will exalt you in due time, cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you. So, if you understand it in context, what could be the cares he is referring to? The cares you worry about, how am I going to be important, receive recognition, be promoted? Cast those cares on God. What do you do? Walk in submission, be clothed in humility, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, get rid of those cares of recognition, prominence, awards, promotions, don’t worry about it, you just walk humbly before God and God is faithful to exalt you in due time. He will lift you up, He will put you in the spotlight, He will bring you to your place of prominence, He will give you the visibility that you are looking for, He will give you the increase, the growth, the promotion, He will take care of you, just cast all your cares because He cares for you. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you teach us, you guide us, you show us how to live lives, in a way that positions us to receive from you, your grace, your promotion, your exaltation. Help us to do this, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
