Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and thank you for giving us the opportunity to come to you today and also journey with you through this week, in the word of God and in prayer. We always look forward to being able to spend these few moments with you. This week, we are going to spend some time talking about healing after abuse or trauma. Of course, in these 7 devotionals that we bring to you this week, is not necessarily a comprehensive word of this subject but we hope that these brief insights that we bring to you each day, during the course of this week, will be a blessing to us in our journey of healing. The bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 23, ‘Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ The apostle Paul is expressing the desire for our entire being, spirit, soul, and body to be preserved blameless, to be kept in good condition, to be kept well as long as we are alive on this earth, or should the Lord Jesus come before we were to pass away. God desires for us to be preserved, to be kept whole, to be kept strong in every aspect of our lives. Sadly, many of us, or some of us at least face situations that actually hurt us, we refer to this as abuse or sometimes through circumstances when we are hurt, we refer to that as trauma. Abuse is usually when somebody does something to us that wrong us in a very strong way. When somebody tries to control us or sometimes, they may hurt or harm us physically or verbally or they may devalue or demean us, destroying our inner person or they may even sometimes make us completely dependent on them. All of these are different forms/ ways in which someone could be abused by another person. The context in which some of these abuses can happen could vary, it could be maybe in a family situation, a marriage, in a workplace, in a church, in a Christian ministry, the abused could be spiritual, physical, emotional, verbal, financial and so on. There are various forms of abuse. Trauma of course is when something happens to us which is outside of our control but affects us deeply, it could be an accident, some violence that we have had to face, it could be maybe a crime situation that you were suddenly exposed to or a natural catastrophe that took place which was traumatizing and shook the individual up to their very core. We face these kinds of situations that affect us emotionally, many times even physically. Abuse or trauma, the good thing is there is a God who heals and that is what we want to talk about today, that the God in heaven, can preserve us, make us whole and help us journey through life well, even though life has had its difficult moments. May we experience that as we journey together this week. Let’s pray, Lord God, we just come to you, and we open up ourselves to you. We pray that especially as we journey together this week, if there be any listening, watching who has gone through abuse or trauma, that they will experience your healing touch. We thank you that you are faithful to do that, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
