Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to come to you today, spend this time in the word of God and spend a little bit of time praying together. This week, we are talking about mental health, an area that all of us have been challenged with, face challenges in and we are just reminding us of a few scriptures that can encourage us to believe God and receive from God wholeness, soundness of mind, so that we can prosper and do really well in our intellectual sphere or metal health. I want to encourage us today by letting us know that we can have a sound understanding. 2 Timothy chapter 1, verse 7, the verse we have been looking at, where the apostle Paul has written, ‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’ The Spirit of God, God who empowers us, produces in us, or gives us power, love, and a sound mind. Yesterday, we mentioned one characteristic of a sound mind which is sound concentration. Another aspect or characteristic of a sound mind is sound understanding, that is the ability to comprehend and grasp something, to wrap our mind around something, understanding, comprehend or get an intellectual grip on something. God can empower us with a sound understanding especially in the areas that He has called us to engage in. Each of us are called to engage with different things, some maybe handling money, some maybe engaged in art, some maybe engaged in technology and other kinds of things, whatever your called to engage in, God can enrich and enhance your understanding or give you a sound understanding and a sound mind for that. There are many scriptures for this, and I’m reminded of 2 Timothy chapter 2, verse 7, where apostle Paul is telling Timothy to consider/ think about what I’m saying, ‘and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.’ He is telling Timothy, look I’m trying to explain certain things to you, think about it, but I am trusting God to give you understanding in all the matters, I’m talking to you about. A great example in the Old Testament in Daniel chapter 1, verse 17, where the scriptures say that for the 4 young Hebrew boys, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom, an ability to understand and learn the things they had to learn. God gave it to them, and God can give it to you. Claim that for yourself, I have a sound mind given to me by the Holy Spirit and my mind has a sound understanding. God gives me understanding in all the matters I have to deal with, God gives me knowledge and skill, the ability to learn, understand and comprehend the matters that I need to handle. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, that the Holy Spirit gives us a sound mind, a mind with a sound concentration and a mind with a sound understanding for us to comprehend, see into and see-through things, thank you Father, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
