Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to spend time together in God’s word and a few moments in prayer as well. This week, we’ve been talking about integrity and how it is an important virtue that we as believers must have. Today, we will talk about a righteous Israelite. Ruth chapter 2, verse 16, ‘pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.’ The story of Boaz and Ruth is one of integrity, valor, character and love. Righteous Israelites were scarce to find in the time of Judges for people generally did as they pleased. What were the owner of the field where Ruth was gleaning be like? Would he be upright and honest or would he take advantage of a poor, foreign widow? Boaz turns out to be righteous. He respects his workers and acknowledges Ruth’s kindness in staying with Naomi and gleaning grain for her. Further, Boaz tells his workers to go beyond the letter of the law as stated in God’s word, he gives willingly from his abundance without being asked to help Ruth and Naomi. Boaz also encourages Ruth to glean until the harvesting is finished. Boaz does what is right in God’s eyes. The story of Ruth portrays God’s blessings on the righteous. The outcome was only accomplished though through Boaz’s righteous response. Though Ruth arrives empty handed and humbled to the core, Boaz treats her with respect and kindness. Disgraced by her position and despised for her ethnicity, the young Moabite woman appears to have little to offer, yet despite all of this, Boaz views her as a worthy woman. Though Ruth comes from a family that has turned their backs on the Lord, the Lord turns His face towards Ruth and reveals Himself to her through Boaz. As a redeemer, Boaz not only takes Ruth as a wife but also fulfills the law by producing a son to carry on Elimelech’s family line. This was a special son who will preserve the royal line from which not only the great king David would descend, but most importantly, through whom the greatest King, King Jesus would come. Boaz was extremely kind with his employees and had a good report with them. Not only did he have a good relationship with those in his employment but he also greeted them with a blessing in the name of the Lord. One of the most outstanding character qualities of Boaz was his care and concern for the needy. God commanded the Israelites to allow the foreigners, fatherless and widows to glean the leftover and missed portions of the harvest. Sadly, many Israelites didn’t follow the rule but Boaz obeyed. Boaz and Ruth’s righteousness proceeds from letting God’s word to shape their lives. Righteous living is the key to a life of God’s blessing upon His people. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for your word and that you have called each one of us righteous. Right now, as believers we have a right standing before you and we pray that you will continue to instill in us these values, that we maybe obedient to your word, we thank you for doing this in our lives, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
