Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today, to spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. We are talking about God in the workplace this week. Yesterday, we learned how our workplaces are redeemed through the cross of Jesus. I want us to understand that our workplaces are also blessed under God’s covenant. We know in the bible, there are two major covenants, which we refer to as the Old and the New covenant established through the death of Christ on the cross and the New covenant is better than the Old. When we reference the Old covenant, it should be the bare minimum, the New covenant is better. Under the Old covenant, God promised His people that He would bless the work of their hands and places of work and what they do. Look at Deuteronomy chapter 28, verse 2, ‘And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.’ Verse 8 says, ‘The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand.’ Notice, part of the blessings under the Old covenant was blessing on the produce of the land, what you put your hands to, on your cattle and herds, this is what their livelihood depended on in the Old Testament. So, translate that into the New Testament, first of all, we are under a better covenant and now in our times, we obviously are doing different kinds of work, not all of us are working on the fields, our workplaces may look different but we are under a better covenant. Therefore, the blessing of God is on us and whatever we set our hands to, in our places of work, that will bless the work of our hands. We got to believe that and say, God, when I go to work, my work is blessed. Whatever I put my hands to is blessed. I’m expecting it to be successful, fruitful, give good results and be a blessing to people and to bring glory to you, that is our expectation. Let’s believe God for that. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you bless us in our places of work. May each of us experience that, that what we put our hands to, our places of work will be places of great blessing, will enjoy great rewards, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
