Greetings and thank you so much for the opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. This week, we are talking about God in the workplace. I want to bring our attention to another aspect that God gives us wisdom and skill for the work we have to do in our places of work. Obviously, all of us are doing different kinds of things, whatever you are doing, whether a teacher in school or professor in a university or something else, God gives you wisdom and skill for your work. There are many scriptures we can reference on this but I just want to point us to Daniel chapter 1, verse 17, it says, ‘God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.’ These young men were put in the Babylonian university, had to learn all kinds of new things, things that were strange to them probably, things in another language, there were a lot of challenges but God gave them knowledge and skill and helped them to succeed. How much more can God empower us in what we are doing. The bible tells us in Isaiah chapter 11, verse 2, ‘The Spirit of the LORD.. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD..’ The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom, all wisdom and understanding flows form Him, whether it is engineering, medicine, science, biology, zoology, whatever you got to deal with, the Holy Spirit can give you wisdom, understanding, counsel, tell you how to solve problems, navigate through difficult situations and He is there is give us wisdom and skill in our everyday work life and challenges that we face in our places of work. What we need to do is to look to God and ask Him for wisdom, ask Him to empower us, and help us find solutions, strategies, new ideas, innovative ways to solve problems and do my work. Draw from the wisdom and understanding that comes from the Holy Spirit; He is limitless, unlimited wisdom, understanding, knowledge and skill. Let’s draw from Him and through that be excellent in what we do. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for knowledge, skill, wisdom, understanding that comes from the Holy Spirit. May we as your people, walk in these things, excel in our work and do great work so that your name be glorified and many lives be blessed, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
