Greetings and thank for joining us today in this daily devotional. It is always a joy to come to you and spend these few moments in prayer and the word of God. This week, we are reflecting on a few promises that speak to us of God’s financial provision in our lives. Today, we will look at 2 Corinthians chapter 9, verses 6 through 8, the scripture says, ‘But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.’ The apostle Paul is talking about money right here. He is encouraging us to be cheerful givers, so you give generously into God’s kingdom and God’s people, you give as God enables you. The reason we can do that is because God’s promise is if we sow bountifully, we will reap bountifully. God’s guarantee is this that God will make all grace, in this case, the grace he is referring to is the grace of financial provision, the grace of God’s supply in our lives. He says, God will make all supply abound towards you, coming to your life so that you will be in a position where you will lack nothing. You will always, have all sufficiency, in all things. Just think about that- God is going to bring so much supply into your life that you will always, in all things, have all sufficiency and you will have an abundance for very good work. What a place to be and that is verse 8, that is God’s promise to each one of us. It is not only for certain people but for all believers, that all believers can be in verse 8, that we can be in a place where God is making His grace abound towards us, making His provision abound in our lives, where we always have all sufficiency, in all things and we are able to have an abundance for every good work that God has called us to do, that is the place we should desire to be and believe God that He will put us there and will always operate in that place where an abundance for every good work flows out of our life.
Let’s pray, Father, we ask and pray that we will experience 2 Corinthains chapter 9, verse 8, daily in our lives, that each and every day we will see that you are making grace abound to us so that we have more than enough for ourselves and abundance to carry out every good work you have called us to do, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
