Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Much Fruit (Daily Devotional)

Greetings! Thank you so much for journeying with us through this week. We trust that each devotion through this week has ministered to you and enriched your life in some way. This week of course, we have been looking at John chapter 15, verses 1 through 8 and today we look at verse 8 where Jesus said, ‘By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be my disciples.’ So, what Jesus has been getting to, is really talking about the life of a disciple. These 8 verses have illustrated the life of every disciple, and this is a picture of the kind of life we are supposed to be living as disciples. What does it mean to be a disciple? John chapter 15, verse 1 through 8 captures for us the life of a disciple. In this whole life of a disciple, the ultimate objective is summed up in verse 8, He says - by this my Father is glorified, so who is the Father? He is the vinedresser - He is the one taking care of the whole garden, watching over every branch that has been connected to the vine, watching over you and me. What is the vinedresser going after all the pruning and caring for the branches that are connected to the vine? Jesus explains that to us in verse 8, by this the Father is glorified, this is what makes Him happy, this is what brings Him honor and glory; that every branch bears much fruit. So, keep this is your heart, the Father is cheering for your fruitfulness and not just fruitfulness but much fruitfulness. God desires that we be very fruitful for the Kingdom of God. That means many of us need to change our thinking, for many of us disciples, our thinking is so small, we think we will bear one fruit and that is enough. But that is not what Jesus has stated here in verse 8, He says the Father is glorified if you bear much fruit; He wants us to be very fruitful, of course, in the assignment given to each one of us. This fruitfulness is the expression of Christ in us, of who Christ is, of what is His life/ nature and what He can do through us. So for each of us, as we engage in whatever assignment the Lord has given to us or whatever activities He is directing us to do, as we let the life of Christ be expressed through us, His multifaceted attributes- His wisdom, His grace, His love, His compassion and let that life be expressed though us and as we bear much fruits, be very fruitful in whatever God is calling us to do, the Father is glorified and that’s the life of a disciple. The life of a disciple is one where the Father is glorified through the disciple being very fruitful for the Kingdom of God, and in this passage Jesus has given us a secret- true fruitfulness and how the Father works in us, enabling us to be fruitful as the life of Christ is expressed through each of us. May each of us as disciples be very fruitful for the Kingdom of God. Let’s pray, Lord we ask that each of us will bear much fruit, so that the Father is glorified, and we are true disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
