Greetings and thank you for journeying with us throughout this week. We’ve been focusing on the theme of humility, wrapped up in this simple phrase- step lower, get higher. God does the getting higher part and we do the stepping lower part. Every time God lifts us up, the higher we go, the more grace we need to stay up in that place. Sometimes we forget that the higher we go, the greater position, responsibility, privilege we have, we need more grace to be in that place, it is not easy. But in order to get more grace, there is only way, we got to step lower because He gives more grace to the humble. So, the higher God lifts you up, the lower you have to step down in order to receive more grace which will empower us to stay in the higher place where God lifts us up. The more He expands what you are doing, the more position, power and influence God puts on your life, you just need more grace to stay in that place, by our own selves, we cannot stay there. So, what do we do? Step lower, go lower, ask God saying, help me to walk in a greater sense of humility because you give more grace to the humble and I need more grace to be in a higher place that God lifts us up to. It is almost an amazing equilibrium, an amazing balance, an amazing dynamic where as we step lower, He keeps lifting us up higher and the higher He exalts us to, the lower we have to get in order to receive more grace to stay in a higher place. As God exalt us, our responsibility is to keep getting lower, humbling ourselves before God, submitting ourselves to one another, being clothed with humility, humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God, knowing that as He exalts us in due time, that will happen, the more He exalts us, the lower we have to keep going in order to receive more grace. He gives more grace to the humble. May we receive more grace that will keep us in the higher place that God lifts us up to. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that exaltation comes from you, that you lift us up higher. The higher you lift us up, help us to step lower, receive more and more of your grace, your empowering in our lives so we can be faithful in higher places, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
