Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally, where we take a few minutes to spend time in God's word, to build our faith up and to live a life that is fruitful in God's kingdom. This week, we're looking at holy habits, building godly habits to live a godly life. Today, I just want to emphasize on the habit of embracing God's word. 2 Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 and 17, ‘All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’ Paul writes to Timothy that all scripture is God's breath. Think about that, that the Bible, the word of God, is the breath of God. Now imagine if you were underwater and you could maybe be underwater for maybe 30 seconds, 40 seconds, maybe maximum of 1 minute, but after that you're really gasping for a breath and God's word is God's breath to our spirit being. When we open the pages of the Bible, we're not just reading mere ordinary words, they're inspired from heaven, they are the very breath of God into our lives. And so how alive are we in God is how much we spend time in God's word. Now, how do we practically develop this habit of embracing God's word? Just want to present three simple practices to embrace God's word. First, just read God's word, read it. Even Jesus in Luke chapter 2, when He was 12 years old, He read the scriptures and the Bible says He grew in wisdom and in stature. So, we just need to read God's word as it is. Secondly, we meditate on it. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8, God tells Joshua to meditate on this law, day and night. Meditation simply means to spend time and to chew on the word of God. And so, we don't just read it, but we spend time in the word. We see what these words really mean to us. Third, we speak it. This is how we apply God's word: we speak it. When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He responded three times, "It is written, it is written, it is written." He declared, He spoke God's word. Psalms chapter 119 and verse 172, it says, "My tongue shall speak your word." And so, we need to be a people who not only read, who not only meditate, but also declare and speak God's word. So, start small, just 5 to 10 minutes a day, opening your Bible, just reading the scriptures, but know that you're not just reading ordinary words, you're reading the very breath, the inspiration of God from heaven. And so, see how even just starting small and then grow into that and this will really transform our life. Don't just read it, meditate on it, speak the word in different situations or different circumstances that you're in. Pick up the scriptures, read it, meditate on it and speak God's word. So, this week, I just want to encourage us to spend time in God's word, embrace God's word, commit to God's word and I pray that this will really transform our life. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you once again for your word. We thank you, Lord, that your word is the very breath of God. Your word is inspired, it is from heaven, Lord. And so, Lord, as we open up the scriptures, as we open up the Bible, I pray that these words will speak into our spirit, that they will bring life, they will bring abundance, they will bring your deliverance. I pray that we'll be a people that spend time meditating in your word and we will declare, just like you declared in the wilderness, we will declare into our circumstances, into our situations. We will speak and declare your word boldly. Lord, I pray that through this habit that we will be transformed and delivered, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.
