Hannah - Kept Her Word (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, such a joy to be back with you. We are looking at Hannah's life and learning some lessons. Let's begin by reading from 1 Samuel chapter 1, verse 21, ‘Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow. But Hannah did not go up for she said to her husband, "Not until the child is weaned. Then I will take him that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever." Hannah was preparing to commit Samuel to God's house and God's work the way she had vowed to God in her prayer. God answered her prayer and now she is determined to fulfill the vow that she made to God. Samuel was a blessing to his mother Hannah, but at the same time, let's understand that Samuel is one of the notable prophets of the Old Testament whose anointing was a great blessing to the house of Israel. He was a prophet who is known to have develop many other prophets under him. So, the blessing that God gave Hannah, the blessing that she birthed through prayer and faith was given back into God's hands, she committed it into God's hands. And today, let's be reminded that the gifts the grace, the anointing, the call, the assignment that God has given us is for His kingdom. And just the way Hannah committed it back to the Lord, whatever we have birthed through our journey with the Lord, the blessings, some of them natural and some of them spiritual, let's use it for God's kingdom and this is what God is looking for. You and I are called to be a blessing in the lives of others. You and I are called to be a blessing in the house of God. You and I are called to be a blessing in the kingdom of God. Whatever it is that God chooses to birth through you and me, when given back to God, committed back for the glory of God, becomes a blessing to the kingdom of God and that's something that Hannah did. Today, let's give back whatever God has put in our hands. Let's pray together, Father, we thank you for the gift, the grace, the calling, the anointing on our lives. We pray that you would enable us to understand your destiny for each one of us. Lord, even as we do that, we pray that we will boldly commit our time, our talents, and our effort for the kingdom of God and let that become a blessing to God's people and to the kingdom of God. We thank you for hearing our prayers, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
