Hannah - Hannah’s Testimony (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, thank you so much for joining together. We're looking at Hannah's life and learning some lessons. Let's read from 1 Samuel chapter 1, verses 26 through 28, ‘And she said, "Oh my Lord, as your soul lives, my Lord, I am the woman who stood by you here praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of him. Therefore, I also have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he shall be lent to the Lord." So, they worshipped the Lord there.’ This is Hannah coming back to the place of worship and testifying of God's intervention in her life. She spoke to Eli, the priest, and informed him that God had blessed her with a child just the way she had prayed, just the way Eli had, spoken over her life. What a joyful moment to walk in the promises of God. We know God’s promises are yes and amen for us. And as we journey in faith, persevere, and come to that place of receiving God's blessings, it's such a joy for us to know that God is involved and God answers our prayers. But, one thing we can notice about Hannah is that she was testifying of what the Lord had done for her and we know that testimony encourages others. Testimony infuses faith into the hearts of others who may be on their own journey of waiting on the Lord. And on the one hand, she was testifying, but the attitude of her heart was one of thanksgiving. Now, do we thank God when He answers? Do we acknowledge Him for His faithfulness and goodness in our lives? We look at the passage in Luke chapter 17 where Jesus questioned and said, "Were there not 10 who were cleansed, but where are the nine?" There was only one leper who came back to let Jesus know and express a grateful heart. Today, we see that Hannah testifying of what the Lord has done is a good thing and at the same time carrying a thankful heart and demonstrating thankfulness, expressing our thanksgiving is a good thing. Let's praise and thank God for all that He does for us. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a prayer-answering God. Help us to always testify of your interventions, your power, and glory in our lives. And Lord, help us to remember the good that you have done for us. We thank you that you are a good God, we worship you; we honor you, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
