Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings! and thank you so much for giving us an opportunity today to come to you and spend a few moments with you in the word of God and prayer. We trust that you're going from strength to strength, from faith to faith in your walk with God, you are continuing to be built up in Him and continuing to be a blessing to those around you. This week, we have been pondering about the motives of our hearts, it is something all of us have to look at constantly in our lives. There can never come a time when we say, oh I don't need to pay attention to this. Whether we are starting out in life or whether we are already journeying through life and in a later stage in life, the motives of our hearts, we have to constantly watch over. So today, we want to talk about what are some of the right motivations we must maintain. The first and the most important right motivation or pure motivation that we must maintain is to glorify God. First Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 31 the apostle Paul says, ‘therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.’ So, Paul is saying whatever you do in life, whether it's eating and drinking or anything else, the motivation should be, I want to glorify God, that means, I want God to be put on display, I want God to receive the praise and the honor that is due to His name through whatever I'm doing. That is the proper motivation and the right motivation. Now of course, many of us believers, we know this truth and we also vocalize it in our prayers and our testimonies. We stand up and say all glory to God and God, we give you all the glory and honor and praise, we say those things. But remember God looks at the motives of our hearts, not just the words we say. So, it's easy for me to say God, I give you all the glory in Jesus’ name, it's easy to say it, but what is really in my heart? Sometimes, maybe I want to do 50 50 sharing with God, God, I will give you 50% of the glory, but please make sure you give me 50% of the glory before men. We try to do that; we try to take some of the glory, but the Lord is very clear, He says I am the Lord and my glory, I will not give to anyone else. So, we need to be in this place where our hearts are set on truly giving God all the glory and that we will choose to stay away from trying to take any of that glory like the psalmist prayed in Psalms chapter 115 he says, ‘not to us, oh Lord, not to us, but to thy name be glory and honor.’ So, we can bring ourselves into a place that in whatever we do, whether it's in our job, our career, our profession, our success, our achievements, whatever God has blessed us with, that God, I will stay away from touching the glory you have blessed me, you've given me all this, but let the glory of all this go to you alone. If we can put ourselves in that place, then our motivations will be right. Our motivation is that whatever we do, Jesus Christ will be glorified, that's the right motivation. Let's pray, Father, we ask that you help us have this kind of a heart that whatever we do, we will do it to the glory of God, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
