Promises For God's Guidance - I Will Teach You (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you so much for joining us today on our daily devotional. We are happy to be able to come to you and take time each day of this week in a few moments in God's word and in prayer.

This week, we're going to reflect on some of God's promises for God's guidance. Some of the promises that we find in the word of God that assure us of God's guidance in our lives. Now, all of us at in different times in life and probably even on a daily basis, we need to receive guidance from God, need some direction from God. Sometimes these decisions may be small, sometimes the decisions that we are about to make may be large in magnitude, may be very impactful in their importance in our lives and so, we just want to remind ourselves of these promises and encourage us to look to God and believe God for His guidance in our lives. Today, we're going to read Psalm chapter 25, verses 12 and 13, it says, "Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth." So, the word of God is calling out people who fear God, it begins with this question, ‘where is a person who fears God’? And to such a person, the promise is made, the assurance is given that God will teach him in the way he should choose or in the choices he should make, in the decisions, in the path that he chooses. God will teach him what he should choose and what would be the result of those choices and God's guidance on those choices? It says that he will dwell in prosperity, he will dwell in the blessing of God and the goodness of God and even his descendants will be so positioned to inherit the earth that is to take their place and to possess everything God has intended for their lives. So, we realize that our decisions do have far reaching impact not only on our own lives but on the lives of those who come after us, on our families and our children, sometimes even on our grandchildren. God's word says that when we are people who fear God, He will teach us in the way we should choose and the choices we should make. What an assurance that we have! As we look to God, we can ask Him for His guidance knowing that He has promised already to teach us in our choices, to teach us in the way we should choose.

Let's pray, Father, we thank you for the assurance you've given to us that as we live as people that who fear God, who have reverence for God, you will teach us in the way we should go. You will teach us how to make the right choices so that it'll lead us into places of blessing, not only us, but even those who come after us, thank you, in Jesus' name, Amen.
