Greetings and thank you for journeying with us throughout this week, day by day, as we’ve been talking about wise investments. What are the things we should pay attention to in our life that are worthy of our time and focus and we’ve talked on several things. Today, we are going to talk about money. Sometimes, as believers, we think money is not important but sooner or later, we will come to the understanding that money is important and how you manage the money you have is important. Through the work we do, we are able to earn some money and when you are able to save some money, you should make that money grow, that means cause it to multiply. One of the ways you do it is by investing it wisely, putting it into places where it can grow on its own and bring you good dividends. Some people think that is not a very spiritual thing to do but I want you to consider in Luke chapter 19, the parable of what we commonly refer to as the parable of the talents, Luke the physician writes it a little differently. Luke chapter 19, verses 12 to 15, he talks about this noble man who went to a far country in order to get a kingdom and come back and that is exactly representing our Lord Jesus. So, he called his servants and he gave to each ten minas and he told them in Luke chapter 19, verse 13, ‘Do business till I come.’ He said, I’m giving you this money but multiply it and do business with it. Invest it to make it grow. I’m giving you the seed money, multiply it. Verse 15 says, ‘when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.’ Very interesting words, do business- trade. What did he want them to do with the money he gave? He wanted them to do business and trade, he wanted to engage with the financial system and multiply it and grow it. He didn’t want them to take the money and put it down somewhere and not grow it. But he wanted them to engage, multiply it. So, that is so clear right in this parable of Luke chapter 19, that the Lord’s intent is that we are good stewards of the finances we have and engage with the system that is available to us and make it grow, trade, multiply it and do business and increase it and that is the account he took from his servants when he got back. The bible tells us in Proverbs chapter 13, verse 22, ‘A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.’ Imagine that, a good man, he can leave an inheritance, how is he doing that? Obviously, he is going to grow the money he has, increase the wealth he has so much so that his wealth will be there for his grandchildren- his children’s children and that is what we must seek to do. So, invest your money wisely, get the right input/ information you need so you can make your money grow, you do business and trade with it and leave an inheritance to your children’s children and of course, bless many people with it. So, this week, we’ve considered many wise investments according to the scriptures. Act on these things so you can do things that will have impact not only in this world but for eternity, for time to come. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for all that you’ve given us. Help us to take what you’ve placed in our hands, invest it wisely and see great dividends and great fruits even for time to come, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
