Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are so glad that we could join us here, where we look at the word of God and study it so we can apply it, believe it, receive it and experience the power of God and the truth of God’s word even as He elevates us to live a supernatural life. We’ve been studying the covenant names of God and today, we will look at the covenant name, Jehovah Rohi- the Lord our shepherd. In Psalm chapter 23, the psalmist declares the Lord as his shepherd. Why does the Lord reveal Himself as our shepherd? It is so that we might experience the shepherding of the Lord in our lives. The Lord reveals Himself to the psalmist, king David and he captures this truth in Psalm chapter 23, it says, ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ Or I do not lack any good thing. He goes on to say, ‘He makes me to lie down/ rest in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters.’ There is refreshing and rest. ‘He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.’ This is our shepherd. The Lord Jesus, He introduced Himself as the good shepherd. In fact, we see that the Lord says, I am the good shepherd and I know my sheep and I am known by my own. He says in that same verse; I lay down my life for the people. This is something that we want to look at, that the shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. Not only that, He is also the lamb of God who gives Himself for us so that we might be justified and made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, He is that perfect sacrifice. Today, even as we look at this covenant name as Jehovah Rohi, the shepherd, He is also the lamb, that perfect sacrifice. On the cross, He was sacrificed to take away our sin, our sickness, our curse that we might be justified, healed and forgiven and receive this free gift of salvation of eternal life. The bible declares in John chapter 1, verse 29, John saw Lord Jesus walking and he introduces Him as the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you are our good shepherd and you are also the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world for our sake. We thank you that today, we can acknowledge that you are that perfect, only sacrifice that was required to take sin away from our lives. Thank you that you have done that and destroyed the body of sin on the cross, that completed work on the cross. You shed your blood for each one of us, we thank you and we invite you to release that completed work on the cross in our lives even today. We give you praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
