Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Nancy Ramya
Hello everyone! Hope that you’re enjoying your journey with the Lord. We are talking about impacting the next generation. I want to bring our attention to the promises that God has for the next generation, there are several of them but two very important ones that I want to talk about today. One is the restoration between the generations. When we read Malachi chapter 4, verses 5 and 6, here is what the scriptures have to say, ‘Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”’ Here is a promise of God and what God is speaking of is an anointing. This is the anointing that Elijah carried, it’s an anointing of restoration- restoration between generations. As we saw, the scriptures talk about the hearts of the fathers to the children and children to their fathers. This is something that the Lord will do, He will turn the hearts in this manner. So, we can pray this through in our lives and say, God, help us and the next generation. Maybe we are concerned about our family, the church community and the next generation in that setting. But we can say, God, help us to have a heart for them, help them to have a heart for us. Learning is always better when the people who are moving ahead and teaching have a heart for those who are following and vice versa and so, to have a heart for each other. Maybe in our current situation, there are divisions, strife, breakdown of communication, anger, bitterness and many things that stand between our relationship with our natural sons and daughters or spiritual sons and daughters but we can reach out to God and say, God, you have promised in your word the anointing of restoration and we pray that over our children. Another promise we could seek God for is the promise of the outpouring of His Spirit. In Acts chapter 2, verses 38 and 39, this is what the scriptures say, that the promise of the Father which is the baptism of the Holy Spirit is promised to our children and those who are far-off, that means many generations ahead. So, this is something we can pray for our children and say God, pour out your Spirit as you have promised in your word. This is what every generation needs, the power of the Holy Spirit.

So, lets pray for restoration and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Heavenly Father, we thank you that you have called us to restoration and you have called us to the empowering of your Holy Spirit. As we pray for the next generation, this is what we ask, let there be restoration, a powerful and mighty work of your Spirit. May your supernatural power manifest and may the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest. We thank you for releasing this to us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
