Holy Habits - Keep Learning (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally, our daily devotionals of All People's church, where we spend a few minutes in God's word to build our faith, to remind ourselves, to encourage us, to live a life that is fruitful for God's kingdom. This week, we've been focusing on the theme holy habits, building godly habits to live a godly life. Today, I just want to encourage us on the habit of continuously to keep learning, to continuously to develop our skills. Proverbs chapter 1 verse 5, ‘Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.’ Let's all read another verse of scripture from Ecclesiastes chapter 10 verse 10, ‘If the iron is blunt, and does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom helps one to succeed.’ See, all of us are made in God's image, which means we're also called to grow, create, and steward all the skills, the gifts that we have been given by God. To each one of us God has given us His grace, He's given us His gift, and we need to be good stewards of the grace of God, the gifts of God that are in our lives. In John chapter 5 verse 17, Jesus says, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." God is always creating, He's always working, and that same creative spark is woven into us, where every day is an opportunity for us to display and glorify Him. So, our skills, whether it's in music, business, art, sport, academics, or any craft are not just secular activities separate from our faith, but they are worship towards God. They should be seen as an expression of worship towards God. So, we need to continue to grow, continue to enable ourselves to develop the skills that God has given us. So, whatever skills, whatever area of expertise, whatever grace that is upon your life, whatever gift of God that you recognize that God has placed in you, we need to remind ourselves to develop them, to be a good steward of them, to bring increase, to multiply, so that God's influence can be displayed, God's influence can be expressed through the different gifts, the skills, and calling of God that we have. So, just want to remind us to take some time every week, every day to keep learning, to increase our knowledge, to increase our wisdom in the area of expertise that God has placed us into. Regardless of the area, God has a purpose for why He has placed those gifts, those resources in your hands. It's our responsibility to be a good steward. So, I pray that each one of us will intensely spend time to develop, to keep learning, to keep honing our creativity because ultimately those skills, those gifts are for His glory, to display His glory on earth as it is in heaven. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you once again for this reminder. We thank you for the grace of God that is upon our life, the gift of God that is upon our life. We thank you, Lord, that you are the one that have placed this in our life. And I pray, Lord, that we will be good stewards of the grace, the gift, the calling of God that you have placed in our life. I pray that each one of us will take some time intensely to develop, to learn, to keep honing our creativity, whatever area of expertise, whatever area of work that you have placed us in, I pray that we will use our skills to display, to be carriers of your glory ultimately, so that your kingdom influence will be displayed, your kingdom influence will be expressed, and many people will be blessed. So, Lord, bring increase as we develop our skills. I pray, Lord, that you will enable us, your Holy Spirit will strengthen us to be a blessing to many people as we develop our skills and our creative gifts. Thank you once again for your grace, for your gifts upon our life, we thank you, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.
