Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to Living Supernaturally, where we meditate on God’s word together. We have been mediating on or responses to adversity and yesterday, we started the devotional looking at one of the characters in the bible, Jospeh, who went through any periods of affliction and adversity and through his life, we hope to meditate on some ways of how we could also respond to adversity. We ended with knowing how Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelite merchants and we see the saga of Josephs’ life taking a very fascinating turn. Joseph was sold as a slave to Egypt and he becomes the property of Potiphar who is an officer of Pharoah, who is the captain of the guard. We see that he begins to serve in Potiphar’s house as a faithful slave. The bible states this in Genesis chapter 39, verse 2, ‘The LORD was with Joseph and blessed him greatly as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.’ We see that God was with Joseph even through the affliction. Joseph’s adversity was not alien to God. God was with him even in the midst of what he was going through. Even if Jospeh couldn’t see how this unjust and treacherous act by his brothers could be of any benefit, God had it crafted completely well. Although, he was far away from home, the presence of God was very real in his life. God was with Jospeh. Even though he was enslaved, he was right where God wanted him to be. He was in the best position of them all. He was right where he could learn lessons that God wanted to teach him even as he moved in to the purposes of God which would be revealed to him one day. God who was faithful would take the evil that was planted in Jospeh’s life and would turn it around and use it for good and for His glory. You and I can be sure that God is with us in our affliction and that is the hope that I want to share with you today that God is with you in your affliction, even if you cannot see him crafting out a hidden opportunity for you. So, when we face struggles, we cannot sometimes make sense of these difficulties that we may endure, it is often natural to feel alone and sometimes even feel abandoned and isolated. Sometimes we think that this struggle is for the long haul and we even lose sight of the dream that God has put into our hearts. But like Jospeh, knowing that God is with you in the midst of the fire, in the storm, through the waves of different things of life is what gives us hope. We take this hope from the promise that we see in Isaiah chapter 43, verse 2, ‘when you pass through the waters, God is with you, when you pass through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk trough the fire, you will not be burned nor will the flames scorch you.’ Let’s stand in that trust, hope and knowledge that God walks with us, He is in the midst of our affliction alongside with us. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are with us, you see every minute, every moment of our pain and affliction. Thank you that you walk alongside with us. As Jospeh did, we pray that we will respond to you in faith and in trust knowing that you walk with us through every storm, every fire, every river of affliction. Thank you for your assurance in our lives, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
