Shalom and welcome to another series of Living Supernaturally. We are glad that you have joined us today as we look into God’s word and spend some time in prayer. This entire week, we are going to be looking at a topic of blessings in the everyday. Sometimes, when we think of blessings, our minds generally got to the extraordinary moments, maybe those answered prayers, breakthroughs or unexpected provisions. But scripture tells us that God’s blessings are not just limited to the spectacular but they are also present in our everyday moments in our lives, they are those blessings in the everyday. When we begin to see our daily routines, simple provisions and even challenges through the lens of God’s heart, our perspective shifts from one of lack to that of gratitude. We realize that everything is a gift and within it are hidden treasures of God’s faithfulness. We hope that this devotional journey will help us to slow down, look closer and really cultivate a heart that sees and celebrates the blessings of the everyday. In this episode, we are going to be looking at the blessing of life. Life in itself is one of the greatest blessings that each one of us can ever receive. Before we talk about anything else, we remember that our very breath is a blessing and a gift of God. We remember what Job had said in Job chapter 33, verse 4, ‘The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.’ We see that in this verse; Job acknowledges that his existence is not accidental, he was created by God and sustained daily by God and his every breath was from God. So, every inhale, breath or moment is a reminder that we are here by God’s grace and for His purpose. Very often we tend to overlook this very foundational blessing because it feels so ordinary but think about it- without life, we wouldn’t have the capacity for relationships or to experience love or to grow in faith or to even fulfill what God has for us. The blessing of life reminds us of our responsibility. Since God has given us breath, we are called to live in a way that honors Him and gives Him glory. So, each life is an opportunity to reflect the image of God. It also is an opportunity to serve others as well as walk in gratitude. So, when those challenges make life feel heavy, this verse encourages us to pause and remember, if God has given us breath today, He also gives us strength for today. Our lives are not sustained by our effort but because of the Almighty God. So, before we close, let us consider these two questions. Do we take time to thank God simply for the gift of life? And how can we use this life God has given us to bring glory to Him and be a blessing to others? As you wrap today, go to God and thank Him for the blessing of your life. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we know that you have given us life which is a gift from you. We pray that you will give us grateful hearts to remember that our life has been sustained by you. May we always be grateful and use our life for your glory and for the service to others, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
