Hello and welcome, it is such a wonderful opportunity to study God’s word together with the intent to meditate and to apply His word. You have tuned into Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's church. Today, we are looking at various aspects of being filled by God and His Spirit. As we meditate, we are looking at this verse, Psalm chapter 107, verses 8 and 9, ‘Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.’ To fill is to fill up, pour out and to furnish liberally. It says here, He satisfies the longing soul and fills he hungry soul with goodness. We see that as human beings, we are created as spirit, soul and body. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 23 talks about how we have been created as spirit, soul and body and how it is God’s desire. It says, ‘Now may the Lord sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ We see that God’s desire is for our soul, along with our spirit and body to be preserved blameless, protected from harm and danger. So, our thoughts, imaginations, emotions, intellects, thinking pattern, process and analysis, to be protected from harm or injury or even decay and to be preserved whole emotionally. In Psalm chapter 107, verse 9 it says, ‘He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.’ The soul that is longing for wholeness or healing, approval, to be understood, longing for quietness and peace instead of chaos and confusion. He satisfies the longing soul and He fills that longing soul. The other thing that we see is that He fills the hungry soul with goodness. Maybe we can say the soul is hungry, the mind, imagination, intellect for answers intellectually, to be satisfied with answers and maybe there are too many questions and the soul is hungry for the word of God and looking for answers and to be filled in all the other places apart from the word of God. Well, it says here, God fills the hungry soul with goodness. We see in Isaiah chapter 58, verse 11 which says, ‘The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.’ The Lord will fill your soul with goodness and satisfy it. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this promise that you will fill the hungry soul and satisfy the longing soul and will fill the soul which seems to be in drought so that it can be like a well-watered garden in a dry place. Fill us Lord, here we are God, hungry for ore of you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
