The apostle Paul having communicated about our life in Christ, now exhorts us to live according to the "new man" we have become in Christ. He describes how living this new creation life affects our speech, conduct and attitudes.
As we continue our study we discover God's plan for believers to serve in the Body, walk in unity and come to a place of spiritual maturity which is simply growing into Christlikeness. The unsearchable riches of Christ, also understood as inexhaustible riches, infinite riches, unending wealth and blessings that cannot be measured, These riches are too great to understand fully. The immeasurable wealth - meaning that what God has now given to us in Christ is immeasurable, so infinite, so great!
All that we experience in our life in Christ, beginning with salvation is by grace through faith. Paul shares with us what the Lord Jesus has done for us - both Jews and Gentiles. He has made us one - in Jesus there is neither Greek nor Jew (Galatians 3:28). The middle wall of separation, the law of commandments contained in ordinances has been abolished. We, both Jews and Gentiles are now one new man following the Lord Jesus and His Word for us. This has been made possible through the what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.
We discover in Ephesians 2, our position in Christ, that we live out of this life in Christ by grace through faith, and the amazing truths of being His workmanship, belonging to the family, and being a dwelling place of God.
We present a background to Paul's epistle to the Ephesians and begin examining Chapter 1. We are also taught how to pray for one another, four important revelations in which we need to keep on growing.

The word 'flesh' is any ungodly desire that satiates the natural appetite of a man's body and soul. Don't put yourself in a place where your flesh gets the upper hand. Make no provision for the flesh to feed on you and starve you. Feed your spiritual appetite by strengthening your inner man. Walk in the presence of God.
Many believers start out with a strong christian faith but somewhere along the way the pull and attractions of this world become so strong that they get lost in the world. And this could happen to mature believer as well. An astonishing example is of a man named Demas who was a co-worker of apostle Paul. We need to consider this area of deception and challenge ourselves.
Overcome means to conquer, to have victory over, to gain mastery over. Everyone who is Born of God, overcomes. Jesus, is our Model who had mastery over the world, the flesh and the devil.
