God looks at the heart. He is drawn towards a heart that has certain attitudes. Some of these heart attitudes may go against our natural grain - the way the world thinks - but before God is of great value. On this episode, we look at 3 heart attitudes that before God are favourable and which God blesses.
1. Poor in spirit
2. A broken spirit
3. A gentle spirit
Whether we like it or not we are in the middle of an intense spiritual conflict! But God has made available to us spiritual weapons that are infinitely superior to the crafty schemes of the enemy. In this final and very important sermon from Ephesians 6, we learn how wear and use each piece of our spiritual armor. Victory in our daily Christian life depends on us walking with our full armor on.
As we continue our study we discover God's plan for believers to serve in the Body, walk in unity and come to a place of spiritual maturity which is simply growing into Christlikeness. We briefly discuss the five-fold ministry and their role in equipping believers to serve, bring unity and bring believers into maturity.
The word 'flesh' is any ungodly desire that satiates the natural appetite of a man's body and soul. Don't put yourself in a place where your flesh gets the upper hand. Make no provision for the flesh to feed on you and starve you. Feed your spiritual appetite by strengthening your inner man. Walk in the presence of God.
God tests us not because He does not know what we think or what we will do. He tests us in order to provide us an opportunity to demonstrate in life what we really believe and hold on to. His tests are meant to get us to the next level in our walk with Him. God tests us - but He empowers us by His Word and His Spirit to pass these tests. Every test we pass brings us into a new realm in God.
Tests are meant to promote us to the next level in our spiritual growth and walk with Him. The devil's temptations are an inducement to sin and an attempt to take us away from our faith in the Lord. Trials include troubles, challenges, tribulations, difficulties, adverse circumstances, persecutions, oppositions, hindrances. The devil's attacks are an attempt to steal, kill or destroy what is ours. We how to identify these, face them and move ahead.
When the Spirit of God, His presence and glory, hovers over a person or place, the power and potential for signs and wonders, creative miracles is present. While the Spirit of God is hovering in this manner, we must release the working of creative miracles.
We were designed by God to manifest His glory. When God is personally present in our lives, we are able to live fully. When we abide in the Holy Spirit, we shine, we glow, we reflect God’s glory to the world. On the other hand, Sin and Rebellion Causes His Glory To Lift.
The names/titles of the Holy Spirit given in the scriptures aren’t meaningless. They are synonyms for the third person of the Trinity. Rightly understood, these names provide tremendous insight into the will, ways and work of the Holy Spirit.
Every believer can have rivers of living water - rivers of the presence, power and working of the Holy Spirit - flowing through him/her. We must by faith step out and minister the flow of Holy Spirit. Let the power flow!
